Housing the Homeless Mayanja Family

This is the family of seven children located in Nakaseke district central Uganda , Kazinga – Kyamutakasa Village who were sleeping in the very faulty house which was on the verge to collapse, they were casted on the some of TV stations of the country calling for help and thats  when Ekirooto Mission Charity came to know about them, qiuckly we took a step to find ways of lending a hand, we started a fundarising campaign on our  online and local platforms and some of the well wishers postively responded to the call.

We started by making bricks due to inadquate funds, the activity was led by the C.E.O and mr Mayanja (the father of the family), The involvement of Mr Mayanja in brick making activities gave us enough encouragement and morale to go on with the full plan of getting them  anew shelter. Due to slow and low incoming donations , it took us 4 months to build a 4 roomed house for the family.

We take this opportunity to thank all the well wishers and the volunteers who supported this course financially, physically, spiritually and those who made physical donations such as clothes, medical care, bedding e.t.c

On the handover day we were joined by a medical team and they rendered medical checkup to the family. It was found out of the 9 people in home 3 were positively living with HIV. Good enough our counselling team did a good work of counselling them and right now they are  under medication and they are still under our care.
